We searched long and hard to find a stallion with commercial breeding that would meet our standards of athletic ability, conformation, soundness and disposition. We also wanted a horse
with a natural headset, a great tail set, a natural lead change and one that could really lope. His sire, Peptoboonsmal, won the NCHA Futurity and is a Leading Sire. His dam, Doc's Steady Date, won both go-rounds and the semi-finals and finished 7th in the 1976 NCHA Futurity. Then she was Reserve Champion in the 1977 NCHA Derby.
